About a month ago I introduced the students to a program called Storybird. It allows students to choose illustrations created by various artists and then write a story about the pictures. This has been highly motivating for them and many have continued their stories at home. Some have even collaborated with siblings or other family members. I LOVE Storybird! I introduced it to our Grade 5 class when I was there student teaching. You can get student books printed professionally for really cheap too. We used that as a prize for a variety of things done in the classroom through the month. The student's loved seeing their story's become professional looking books :)
